Whenever we talk about an urban context, the excess traffic jams and tedious parking problems instinctively come to our mind. Taking such adverse situations into consideration, a designer duo from Lithuania – Algis Berziunas and Laima Rimkute, have come up with a uniquely ingenious solution – the Green P parking system. Influenced by the organic stratification used in modern day urban design, this conception has sought to provide ample spaces and optimum circulation to city inhabitants.
First, the concept imbues the virtue of accessibility. The designers have thought of a combined public and private parking system.
For guests the parking is reachable from outside, for private users there is a possibility to enter and leave the parking from the building.
Hence, the flexible parking area will be accessible from all sides. Moreover, there will be inclusion of elevators, so that people won’t have to move around to reach their vehicles. This sort of diffused, adjustable yet approachable parking will surely prove to be a boon for future city residents.
The system can utilize various unused areas like spaces under fly-overs and bridges for parking. Adding to that, each individual Green P spot will incorporate a solar paneled roof, and use the resultant clean energy for street lighting. Hence, urban regeneration both in terms of spatial enhancement and services can be conscientiously achieved.
