Sitting on 320 square-foot area at Checquamegon Bay in Bayfield, Wisconsin, the EDGE house certainly has an edge over other massive and lavish houses. EDGE short for Experimental Dwelling for a Greener Environment is a cute little concept that comes loaded with green features. Designed by Revelations Architects, the award-winning tiny modular home has interiors made from CNC-cut Baltic birch plywood and the exterior rain screen and shutters are constructed from locally-grown white oak.
This eco-friendly dwelling includes green features like rainwater collection, geothermal heating and cooling, air-to-air heat recovery, passive solar windows, and insulated exterior shutter doors that minimize nighttime heat loss. The house has two prefabricated boxes at either ends, which houses the kitchen and bathroom. Just above of them sits an 80 square-foot loft bedroom.
The central living space flaunts the beautiful custom-made furniture that can be transformed to accommodate eating, sleeping and socializing. The easy to construct structure has already installation at the different location in the past six months. This small, beautiful and green dwelling would cost you between for $US60,000 to $150,000.
