GM plans an all-electric variant of Chevrolet Volt

General Motors has announced that the company is planning an all-electric variant of the Chevrolet Volt, that will be built by expanding the battery pack of the vehicle is eliminating its internal combustion engine. The Volt, as of now, gets a range of 40 miles on a charge before the 1.4-liter internal combustion engine kicks in.

The all-electric variant will be somewhat similar to Nissan’s Leaf, and will get more from its batteries. The launch date of the vehicle is still a secret, but it is expected to have a range of about 100 miles, which is decent for individuals who travel less.
