Eco Factor: Electric car covering 372-miles on a single charge.
A yellow and purple colored electric Audi A2 car has set a new world distance record for an everyday vehicle by completing the 600-kilometer journey from Munich in southern Germany to Berlin without recharging its battery. Driven by Mirko Hannemann yesterday, this electric car by German firms lekker Energie and DBM Energy is here to give a new green definition to urban transport.
Until now, the world has seen electric cars go only 60 or 70 kilometers on a single charge, but this new record setter has put other EVs to shame by covering the 372-mile stretch in just seven hours, that too on a single charge. The proud team was welcomed at Berlin by Economy Minister Rainer Bruederle, who addressed the cute little car as a new world record maker. The team sees gas-guzzlers as things of the past and expect electric cars to dominate the automotive industry in the future.
