Eco Factor: Low-emission vehicle to be powered by a hybrid engine.
Honda’s recent initiative to adopt sustainable practices has dropped an axe on the company’s gas-powered Civic, which will be replaced by a cleaner hybrid. The new Civic is expected to arrive by the fall of 2011 and will be the only version offered to Japanese consumers.
The company is also in the process of re-starting construction of a factory that broke ground only two years ago. The new factory was designed to manufacture clean-diesel vehicles and small cars, but will now focus entirely on hybrid systems to better fuel economy.
