Car race using only hybrid and electric vehicles are hosted in many parts of the world. But, it is for the first time a team of collegiate students had organized such a venture. It is on Thursday, the Thayer School of Engineering hosted ‘Formula Hybrid’ — a car race that used only hybrid and electric vehicles.
It was taken off at the New Hampshire International Speedway. Not only that, to put the message of using hybrid car across, the event was accompanied by a conference on the development of hybrid cars.
Dana Haffner, a Thayer student said, The goal is to raise interest, get people excited about alternative fuels… Hybrid technology is an exploding industry.
