Eco Factor: Zero-emission all-electric SUV concept.
With massive gas-guzzling engines under the hoods, SUVs are far from being green. Industrial designer TJ Vaninetti is trying to better the credentials of SUVs with an all-electric concept dubbed the Ford Xplor. The Ford Xplor is designed to run on in-wheel electric motors.
The zero-emission concept features drive-by-wire accident avoidance system and a unique design that challenges conventional SUVs. The relocation of the engine on the wheels has allowed the designer enough space to play with, the results of which are clearly seen at the front of the vehicle.
The design allows the front glass to be extended on the body of the vehicle giving a new view of the road ahead to the passengers.
