Apparently everyone is going to go green these days and the entire green movement is no longer something that is ‘geeky’ or just something that people with nothing better to do take up. It has become a global cause and rightly so as the world is starting to just wake up and realize the fact that it has already dug up a pretty deep ditch for itself and now is trying hard to pull itself up by getting its cat together. The aviation industry is trying hard to keep its wings flying by cutting costs and cutting on pollution. Here is Florida Airport taking another step forward.

According to the authorities hydrogen-powered vans will soon be greeting travelers at the Orlando International Airport. Currently in testing, the four Ford E-450 shuttle vans are driven by powerful 6.8 liter V-10s. However, unlike the vehicles powered by hi-tech fuel cell systems, these Fords utilize conventional internal combustion engines which burn hydrogen fuel instead of gasoline. While yielding to fuel cells in efficiency, the system is nevertheless cleaner than its straight-petrol counterparts.

This may not be going green in a very big way and this may not be the best green option either but it signifies an intent from the authorities which is nice to see. What will be interesting is to se where they can take it from here on and how green can they really get. Hopefully, it will lead to something a lot bigger and a lot cleaner!
