Get ready to experience the space in the ‘Bloon’ way. The newly introduced air balloon vehicle created by a Barcelona based company named Zero2Infinity challenges the usual commercial aircraft. This air balloon based aircraft is much more effective in functionality and stronger in its mechanism and it is expected to take on a totally different perspective of commercial flying and its scientific use.
The best features of this vehicle include its ecological supporting fuel mechanism and its look of an alien spacecraft. It gives no chemical emission and runs without an engine as this air ship is actually connected to a large helium balloon. A central pod of this air ship has with it all necessary communication and navigation system and can accommodate two pilots and four passengers. The landing system is well supported by an ejecting parafoil and extending shock absorbing air bags below the aircraft.
After a successful launch up to 33 km (20.5 miles) already, now Bloon aims at its first manned flight to get tested in 2012. By 2015 this air vehicle can reach up to 36km.
Currently the cost to fly in this flight is kept quite high with an amount of cost 110,000 euro (approximately 160,000) USD per person. However, the future cost can be expected to reduce with its intensity of usage. Future air flights like these can be imagined with more customized and advanced features. This private air balloon ship ‘Bloon’ can even take a place in our backyard shed as our own air vehicle just like our traditional cars.
