Eco Factor: Zero-emission electric vehicle.
After spending 25 years working as an engineer at General Motors, Richard Marks went on to build a low-cost electric vehicle for the masses. The retired engineer came up with a vehicle that won’t cost you more than $10,000 and will be able to take you through your city on a single charge.
Christened EvoVElectric, the vehicle was showcased at the Maker Faire 2010, and is powered by deep-cycle lead-acid batteries. Richard has partnered with Energy Components Group to produce the vehicle starting in early 2011. ECG will reconfigure the EcoV and produce a four-seat variant, which has a top speed of 25mph and a range of up to 40 miles on an eight-hour charge.
