Environmentalists have been pushing the idea of traveling by bicycles to reduce wastes and (according to me) reduce inches around our waist too. But we have been always avoiding this green option for many reasons (best known to us). So Frag Woodall, graduate of The University of Technology, Sydney, has worked upon the most innovatively designed bicycle to put an end to all our woes. Christened as Everglide, it is a bicycle with a backpack! Securing 3rd place in the 12th International Bicycle Design Competition (IBDC), Woodall’s Everglide was given high recognition because it provides a seamless and convenient transition in transport that does not include the usual suspect, the car. Wheeled as luggage, backpacked or cycled, you can just fold it down to its carry case on the back side. Ideal for short-distance cycling, it is absolutely convenient to carry it as a back pack aboard other forms of public transport such as cabs, trains and buses.
It also features a shaft-drive mechanism which is light-weight and compact, rendering a clean smart drive solution. And that’s not all.
It comes with frills like plugging in your cell phones and iPods which also get charged thanks to the frictionless magnetic dynamo technology. Now that seems to be some reason to appeal to all those who are still contemplating over swapping their vehicles for a clean green bicycle.
