All you party animals out there! Discotheques are undoubtedly your favorite hangouts to de-stress. Its great sound system and flashing lights attract you to hit the dance floor. But, do you know that an average night club is consuming approximately 150 times more energy as compare to four person of a family annually.

Recently, a non profit organization, Enviu has decided to bring green design on the dance floors of night clubs or discotheques. According to a Netherlands based research group, they are planning for a eco-club. In order to pump the energy of dancers back into the house, they will use some physics theories.

It will operate as follows. While dancing, when your foot press the floor loaded with spring, it will automatically dip for 2 cm. This will activate a flywheel and begins to store all the kinetic energy. This kinetic energy is being converted into electricity. Its earlier version was used for powering up the bright LEDs that are positioned under the tiles.

General director of the Sustainable Dance Club project, Michael Smit declared they want to feed the main power grid of club. Enviu is also planning to transform the sweating of dancers. Isn’t it interesting?

Although, this type of floor is yet a prototype, still Enviu has been given contract for its installation at Rotterdam club. Let’s dance for a cause!
