The concept, plan, and design for the Citroen Egoiste were introduced for the first time in Paris at the Citroen design studio in January 2010. Swanky and bold, the concept Citroen Egoiste is all set to redefine the shape of an electric vehicle. Designed to boost the owner’s glam quotient, the Citroen Egoiste is very different from the sober EVs available on the market; in fact the machine has been specially designed for young professionals and executives.
The importance of popularizing the use of electrical vehicles cannot be undermined. Researchers are engaged in devising methods to derive energy from renewable sources. Imagine a world where fuel for transportation will be based on renewable energy resources. The Citroen Egoiste is bound to be popular on the roads. Its low and fairly wide body topped with transparent glass ceiling makes a very bold statement. The very low and long front has no space for an engine. The fashionable front blends in with the car cabin encased with glass walls and a glass ceiling such that the driver will be exposed to the entire city while cruising around in the new and seductive machine.
Citroen Egoiste’s glass canopy resembles that of a fighter plane. To alight, passengers walk down a low aisle-like stretch from the rear to the front. The car’s batteries lie encased in packs near the aisle. The car has been designed to give the impression of a fashion label and the Citroen logo is discreetly embedded behind the vehicle. The intricate and floral patterns on the wheels screen the mechanics and enhance the aesthetics.
The car boasts of glass blades on the front and rear. These protruding blades house the electric circuits and help in directing air toward these circuits for cooling purposes. These blades make up for the grills fitted in conventional cars that run on petrol. They definitely add a golden touch to the seductive looking new Citroen set to revolutionize the way people perceive EVs.
