Eco Factor: Sustainable design offers commercial and recreational opportunities in urban environs.
HAY! Tráfico Workshop has proposed an Eco-turistical Center for the Mexican City of Tlaxcala built on land susceptible to private encroachment and bringing them under community use. The plan envisions a center that integrates natural surroundings and human lifestyle in a useful manner by synthesizing urban aspects of Tlaxcala along the Zahuapan River. The ambitious proposal uses artificial landscaping to integrate various commercial and recreational aspects with the physical environment.
The plan includes slopes, curves, defined pathways and open spaces along with views of the river and mountains. The center’s urban fabric would include a hotel, shopping area, auditorium, business center, art museum, football and tennis courts, pool, spa, gym and an open promenade along the Zahuapan River.
