Eco Factor: One-piece solar mounting rack made from recycled materials.

Sollega Inc has announced its new InstaRack™, the solar industry’s first fully assembled, one-piece mounting rack made from recycled materials. The patent-pending no-assembly design reduces installation labor costs for flat commercial rooftops by up to half when compared with traditional systems. The InstaRack™ is compatible with most solar panels on the market today, allowing installers to continue working with the manufacturers of their choice while greatly reducing labor overhead.

The InstaRack™ is a one-piece molded unit that requires only one tool. The flexible mounting system works with all current 175 to 230 W PV panels on the market. The InstaRack™ is manufactured from high density polyethylene plastic (HDPE) and made from a minimum of 35% recycled materials, resulting in a lightweight, easy to stack and ship unit with a lower carbon footprint than conventional steel or aluminum alternatives. The modular design allows for minimal roof penetrations while a UV inhibitor adds to durability.

The InstaRack™ slashes labor costs in half for installers, requires zero on-roof assembly, is light and stackable for compact shipping, and best of all is made of recycled materials, further reducing the project’s carbon footprint. According to Sollega, installation labor accounts for over 30% of a solar project’s total cost. The InstaRack™ is available in the U.S. immediately.
