EcoFactor: Energy efficient computers by HP.

Computer giant HP has announced two new ecofriendly PCs that the company claims are 45 percent more efficient that other comparable PCs on the market. These desktops achieve this high level of efficiency without making use of any power management technology. These new systems, called the Pavilion Verde and Pavilion Phoenix Special Edition, come in recyclable packaging that adds some more flavor to their greenery.

The Pavilion Verde features an AMD Athlon X2 4850e dual-core processor, a 500 GB hard drive, 5 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE graphics processor with 128 MB onboard video memory, a DVD SuperMulti drive with Lightscribe and a hell lot of other features that would make computer nerds go crazy. The other green baby, the Phoenix Special Edition, carries an AMD 9150e quad-code CPU and a 640 GB HDD. The rest of the features of the Phoenix are same as that of the Pavilion Verde. Both the systems come with preinstalled 64-bit variants of Windows Vista Home Edition. The company is planning to roll out these systems on November 9 with a price tag of $579 and $659 respectively.
