Eco Factor: New age OLED lamps are four times more efficient than incandescent electric lamps. The Electronics and Telecommunication Research Institute (ETRI) of Korea, a government-funded institute, has introduced all new organic light emitting diode lamps that are very efficient and at the same time eco-friendly as they do not use mercury. These white OLED lamps are highly efficient having four times higher electricity consumption efficiency as compared to the typical incandescent electric lamps. ERTI’s OLED-based lamps have an efficiency of 70 lumens per watt, which is remarkably high in comparison to the 15 lumens per watt of the incandescent lamps. The OLED lamp has a lifetime of 10,000 hours. Via: UberGizmo
