EcoFactor: Soil-less fruit and vegetable grower.
Research shows that people in the UK eat vegetables and fruit at the rate of just 3 per day, and their routine diet consists of un-ecofriendly meat. Designer Rob Scott thinks he has figured out a way that would allow the residents of the UK to increase their daily veggie consumption to 5 per day with a concept fruit-growing device he calls the “Eco Grow”.
The Eco Grow uses the soil-less plant growing technology known as aeroponics. Here the user sprays nutrients over the roots allowing the plant to get the correct amount of nutrients and water it needs in order to grow at its best. This enables the Eco Grow to work great in any geographical conditions. The device also comes with solar leaves that power a small pump, which sprays water and nutrients over the roots of the plants.
The Dark Side:
The device seems amazing for anyone who wants to get organic and self-sufficient, but the small size of the device means that the user won’t be able to grow a large number of plants and herbs in there.
