Eco Factor: Concept three-wheeled electric cruiser powered by solar energy.

Leaning in the direction you want to turn is normally associated with motorcycles, where the speed determines the angle at which it leans. Industrial designer Ionut Predescu brings that leaning thrill to a three-wheeled electric cruiser for two, which is all covered to keep you dry in the rain.

The vehicle, known as the Electropositive, carries a carbon fiber exoskeleton to provide an added level of safety without increasing the load on the electric motors incorporated into each of its wheels. The body is covered with transparent photovoltaic panels, which recharge the vehicle’s batteries on the move.

The leaning system is based on shifting the center of gravity of the vehicle. As the rider pulls the handlebars toward himself, an electro-hydraulic servo alters the gravity center, and when the handlebar is relaxed again, the CG of the vehicle shifts to normal and the vehicle is stabilized.
