Eco Factor: Sun and rain harvesting resort offers sustainable living.
Industrial designer Pedro Gomes thinks he knows what avid campers need on their camp site. It is all about ample water and ample electricity to keep their gizmos charged up. The designer has come up with a concept resort design dubbed Polygon Resort.
The concept focuses on merging a flexible roof commonly found in tents used on camp sites and green technology of the future. The concept has the ability to harness solar energy during the day using embedded flexible solar panels on the canvas and also collecting rainwater and storing it in strategically designed holes in the ground.
The Polygon Resort comprises of modular furniture that allows basic living for the user. The lack of modern technological gadgets and appliances in the shelter allows for more interior space for up to 6 inhabitants.
