The company owned by a husband and wife team of Dan Phillips and Marsha Phillips builds low cost homes from materials nobody would have ever thought to have any construction relevance. For Dan, almost anything discarded and durable is a potential building material and he is helped in his endeavor in the form of scrap donations from a wide range of sources.

So far the company has shown its potential by building 14 homes, which are being owned by low-income households. The materials used in these houses includes shards of ceramic tiles, mismatched bricks, trashed wood, bottle nuts, wine corks and even old DVDs.

The homes meet local building codes and Dan regularly gets consultations from professional engineers, electricians and plumbers to make sure that his designs are sound in every respect. Dan claims that if not exactly a profit guzzler, his endeavor to help the less-fortunate meet their dream homes is earning enough to keep the couple going.
