The Garden Ark by Zed Factory is a multiple-use solar-powered unit that has been designed to sit “in” rather than “on” the landscape. The space can be used in a variety of fashions from a peaceful place to read a book or a place to share the evening with someone.
The Garden Ark is to be made available in an easy to assemble kit form and is constructed from natural materials such as FSC-certified wood, soil and grass. The user can plant his or her garden on top of the roof to match the surroundings.
The unit carries generous built-in modular futon sofas, desks and office storage to make your stay more comfortable. A PV array that can be oriented to face the sun provides all the energy that the Garden Ark needs for illumination. For an additional charge, the Garden Ark will also carry a wind turbine that can be exposed to the prevailing winds.
The self-sufficient unit also comes with a composing toilet and a washbasin that is filled by a rainwater harvesting system. Collectively the space is great for all those in need of a peaceful place that doesn’t have much effect on the environment.
