Eco Factor: New packaged water distribution technique re-uses water bottles.

We all want clean water to drink, and with the amount of toxins present in the water sources increasing with every passing day, people have resorted to the use of packaged drinking water, which is clean but adds a new threat to the ecosystem – disposed plastic water bottles. Industrial designer Oliver Craig has tried to give a new dimension to packaged drinking water by making it more ecofriendly.

The Source Project by Oliver is a new technique to distribute packaged drinking water, where the user has to purchase a Source Bottle, which can be refilled when more water is needed. The Source Bottle can be filled from a Source Water Fountain that is to be installed outside the shops.

When the user pays for a bottle of water, he can fill the bottle from the fountain and earn redeemable points for the same, which are transferred to the vendor’s log via RFID technology.
