Eco Factor: Recycled glass bottle converted into a bartender calling system.
It’s always exciting to see what green-minded designers do if they’re allowed to use the products others refer to as waste, to design new products. Similar is the case with industrial designer Doyeop Kim, who has designed a great way to recycled old glass bottles as a waiter calling system for a restaurant.
Without needing any specific skills in the bartender, the design only needs him to invert an empty wine bottle over the Re:fill Chime Bell And Lights system, which then generates color coded signals according to the needs of those having a drink. The system removes the need to franticly wave at the bartender in a congested bar or restaurant by using lights of different colors to gather the attention of the waiter. Pink light is shown for a new order, blue light for water and green light for the bill.
