Eco Factor: Gyroscope-equipped wheel system to teach kids their first green lesson.
The future demands more use of bikes and other pedal and renewable energy powered vehicles. While learning to bike wasn’t easy for us all and we all would be having some painful memories of that time, a company claims to have reinvented the front wheel of a bike that automates the learning process and helps kids learn their first green lesson in just an hour.
Developed by Gyrobike, the Gyrowheel system is a product of several years of research and could be in shops by next year. The wheel carries an independently spinning disc that is powered by a rechargeable battery.
When the disc spins at high speed it creates a strong force that keeps the wheel upright and the rider stable. The system has three stability settings – high, medium and low. As the rider’s skills continue to improve, the stability settings can be adjusted accordingly.
