Eco Factor: USB-powered gadget to warn you of bad indoor air quality.
With air pollution on a steep rise, it’s always better to keep yourself and your family safe from disease-causing bacteria and viruses that might enter your respiratory system with the air you breathe. While testing indoor air for pollutants is not an easy thing to do, designers Xinxin Wang and Zhi Chai have made it pleasing and fun with their design they call the Breathing Bud.
Shaped like a pretty bud, the device carries air vents at the base, which suck in air for analyzing. Powered by the USB port of the computer, the device sends information to the computer for you to analyze. If you’re too lazy to check air quality on the computer screen, the device has a backup warning system that changes the color of the bud according to the quality. When blue, the air quality inside your home is good, and if it turns to pink, you are in need of some cleaning.
