Going green has always started with National Parks and park authorities have always made sure the environment movements begin in the parks. With water shortages and rising gas prices, something rudimentary such a public restroom can make a lot of difference. Hence, Michigan’s Grand Haven State Park unveiled its eco friendly campground restrooms intended to help people who are camping in the park’s confines.
The structure is water and energy efficient and comes with timer-controlled showers, low flow toilets, and solar panels on the roof, which helps to power the ventilation system. Natural light illuminates the restrooms during the day and motion sensors help in making sure that artificial lights are used only when required. Grand Haven State Park is blessed with natural beauty and its white sand beaches; Lake Michigan, hiking trails, a lighthouse etc offer campers a plethora of options. The fact that it is also going green makes it all the more attractive to environmentally conscious campers.
