The cargo area is open and is utilized for carrying heavy items and taking them to other locations. A pickup truck is most efficient for this purpose. Its bed which is situated on the rear end is sturdy and can cope up with quite heavy weights.   • 2013 Toyota Tacoma I-4 2WD Manual-this pickup is number one on the list which isnโ€™t even surprising, given it is a midsize truck yet an extremely powerful one. This Tacoma is a four cylinder truck with a five speed excellent manual transmission, this does look pretty impressive so far but there is more, the interior is strictly no-frills and this pickup is a workhouse with all the needed power. It has a 180 lb-ft torque and comes with a 159 hp. You can enjoy a nice comfortable ride where you can drive and chill out all at the same time.

  • 2013 Nissan Frontier I-4 2WD Manual-this is a four cylinder pickup. With a torque of 171 lb-ft torque and hp of 152 it claims its righteous place on the list.
  • 2013 Ram 1500 HFE-this pickup offers auto stop start, it also boasts grille shutters. This is a midsize pickup.
  • 2013 Toyota Tacoma I-4 2WD Automatic- this Tacoma is a four speed automatic and a four cylinder pickup.
  • 2013 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra Hybrid- it comes with an attractive V-8 power. Although this pickup is worth $42,000 Chevrolet has a $4000 cash back offer going out to clear this model before it is upgraded in 2014, but the upgrade will be missing the hybrid power train.

  • ย 2013 Nissan Frontier I-4 2WD Automatic- this pickup isn’t very different from its manual version although the hp is 109 and it has a torque of 110 lb-ft.
  • 2013 Nissan Frontier V-6 2WD- this pickup is recommended by the eco friendly haulers. It is capable of carrying midsized loads pretty well. It has hp of 261 which is pretty robust and 281 lb-ft of torque.

  • 2013 Ford F-150 Eco Boost 2WD- it comes with 420 lb-ft of ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย torque and 365 hp and makes the cut to be in the top 10 list.

Unexpected Contenders

Pickups aren’t vehicles that people feel are fuel efficient but this list definitely proves them wrong. It might even inspire a few too actually but these eco friendly cars.
