Solar-powered chargers do promise to give your gadget a green charge every time, but sun isn’t a reliable source of energy unless you’re aboard the International Space Station. A team of students have created a much more reliable and a green way to charge your USB gadgets using your bike as the source of energy.

The mod makes use of a Maxon motor rated at 6V. The $275 motor might be more expensive than your bike, but it does help you charge your loved gizmos in a green way. The motor is mounted close to the rear brake mount where the motion of the wheel brings the motor in motion.
