Eco Factor: Concept car powered by electricity.
The barren vastness and hostile living conditions of the Arctic have always been a hurdle for explorers and scientists doing research work in the coldest area of our planet. With snow-covered roads and sub-zero temperatures, conventional cars can’t keep their engines running. In an effort to develop a vehicle that can stand the hostile conditions of the Arctic, Norwegian designer Anders Gloslie has designed a concept proposal for THINK called the FROST.
The car is inspired by and created to meet the demands of Arctic climate. The asymmetrical body of the car is influenced by ice formation, which means that FROST takes on a different shape when viewed from a different angle. Powered by an electric motor, the car doesn’t tread on wheels, rather it uses radical tracks for better grip and maneuverability.
The car comes with rear-mounted fans that control airflow into the cockpit and also adjust the temperature of the electric motor and the battery packs from preventing the chemicals from freezing. FROST also has a high-tech digital information system that displays the critical atmospheric and car-related data to the driver.
The Dark Side:
The car has just been developed for explorers and scientists doing research work in Arctic. Carrying this design, there is no way the car can make it to the open roads.
