Eco Factor: Zero-emission car powered by electric engine.
While cars powered by solar electricity still remain a designer’s wild dream, car manufacturers know the importance of good old electricity in greening our planet. One group working on electric cars for a better future is the Tazarri Group, which has finally released the specs of its much awaited Tazarri Zero electric car.
The car will be powered by a 15KW (20bhp), 150Nm electric motor which should shoot the car from standstill to 30mph in a little under 5 seconds. The rear-wheel drive car will depend on a 142kg, 12.3KWh battery pack for a top speed of 80km/h and a maximum range of 140Km. The car would be launched sometime later this year with an automatic transmission supporting four driving modes – race, rain, standard and economy.
The Dark Side:
The company claims that only 3000 cars would be rolled out in the first year, each bearing a price tag of about £16,200. Keeping the cost and the number to be produced, we have to say that Tazarri is targeting rich people in need of a green car to display their eco-affection.
