Eco Factor: Low-emission hybrid vehicle planned by Tata.

The Tata Nano, which made waves as being the cheapest four-wheeler ever developed, has even bigger plans. According to Tata chairman Ratan Tata, a hybrid Nano is what the company is eyeing. The news was confirmed via a South Korean newspaper.

Since the car was launched as a “People’s Car,” the hybrid version of the Nano shouldn’t be an expensive deal. While the details on the hybrid version are scant, we’re not expecting a full hybrid with loads of battery backup. However, for a car that easily manages 50mpg, the hybrid mode will only better its green credentials.
