Eco Factor: Low-emission concept car designed to run on a diesel/electric hybrid engine.
While most auto designers are working on next-gen green cars that run on sustainable fuels, Romanian designer Andrus Ciprian is trying to give a new green life to the aging Mazda RX-8. Andrus has come up with a new proposal dubbed Mazda RX-Z that is designed to run on a cleaner hybrid engine.
The concept car is a link between fossil fuel cars and more ecological ones. The designer has proposed a hybrid drivetrain that includes a 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine and a pair of electric motors at the rear. When power and speed are needed, both the engines work simultaneously, and during a low-speed commute the car can be powered by the electric motors.
A start/stop technology that is integrated into the engine further increases fuel efficiency. The car is equipped with four doors and the rear ones are half-sized and hinged at the rear. One of the futuristic features incorporated in the car’s rear design is the inclusion of a display screen that can light up with any text written by the car’s driver.
