Eco Factor: Low-emission camping RV generates solar and wind energy, harnesses rainwater.

It sometimes is amazing to see what people can do when they’ve no one to talk with. After remaining speechless for a month, Brian Brawdy, an avid camper, recognized the need to go green to satiate his love for camping in a sustainable fashion. After undergoing lip surgery, the self-described adventurer and explorer Brian wanted his ride to be green, low-emission and utilize natural sources of energy.

The need let Brian get a Ford F-350 topped with a Lance camper converted into an ecofriendly vehicle. The camping RV didn’t need gas after the modifications, as it was made to run on clean biodiesel and harness solar and wind energy to power an air conditioner, microwave, refrigerator and television.

Brian says that the systems work seamlessly and made him stay 320 nights in his camper last year. Of course the modifications didn’t come cheap and Brian had to spend $140,000 to make the vehicle green.
