Eco Factor: Autonomous machine powered by the sun creates a unique object every day depending on the amount of sunlight received.
Thomas Traxlers has developed an innovative solar-powered machine called the “Idea Of A Tree” that displays the growth of objects during the course of a day. The machine uses nothing more than sun and some threads to develop a unique object each day, depending on the intensity and the time sun shines during that particular day. The movement of the machine is entirely dependent on the amount of sunlight that the solar panel receives and this change in movement changes the object that is being developed. The objects become a three-dimensional recording of the various sunshine conditions that occur during the day.
The Dark Side:
Apart from keeping a record of the sunshine conditions of a day, the objects have no practical use. The designer could have made better use of the solar panels to develop something that has more practical sense.
