Eco Factor: Biomorphic skyscraper concept.

The land available for growing food has already been taken up by colossal skyscrapers that make up the urban world of today and perhaps tomorrow. The condition is expected to get even worse, provided the Earth does not swell or eat up a neighboring planet to double itself. Architects and designers have taken up the problem and are trying to solve this problem with their designs. Architect Eric Vergne is one such futuristic designer who has envisioned a fern and moss covered skyscraper for the future Manhattan.

Dystopian Farm is a biomorphic skyscraper that has been inspired by the cell structure of a fern. Apart from providing housing, the skyscraper would be used to grow food for the people living inside the farm skyscraper. The growth would be helped by a combination of lighting/CO2 levels.

The Dark Side:

Encouraging people to live in a skyscraper covered with ferns all over is just one of the many problems designers will have to face bringing this structure into life and making it habitable.
