EcoFactor: A masterplan of a self-dependent resort and residences for the Caribbean isle of Nevis.

Designed by Make Architects, this is a masterplan for a 600-acre site on the Caribbean island of Nevis. Consisting of a luxury spa resort and some deluxe private residences, this amazing design focuses on self-sufficiency and ecofriendliness. The land nearest to the sea will be transformed in such a manner that allows the architects to develop a crescent-shaped resort.

The resort would be accompanied by jungle flora that consists of coconut groves among some other beauties of nature. The rooms in this resort are designed to maximize privacy, without cutting down the interaction with nature. The occupants of these luxury rooms will have direct contact with views of the sun and will also enjoy the sea breeze.

The private residences will, however, be developed on the slopes of the extinct volcano, providing excellent scenic views. Both the resort and the private residential area would have a host of ecofriendly features, which include rainwater collection, gray water recycling, solar thermal cooling and will also depend on solar panels and wind turbines for power needs.

The Dark Side:

Transforming land nearest to the sea for the resort could be an eco disaster in disguise, as it could hamper the quiet aquatic life.
