Nic Cerrone and MobileMuster, unveiled in Australia their collection of jewellery for both women and men – hold your breath – made from recycled mobile phones. Thats right, recycled mobile phones’ new avatar as designer jewellery made many heads turn at the the official recycling program of the mobile phone industry.

“We wanted to illustrate the value of recycling mobile phones and make the point that when you get a new mobile phone this year, you might also be getting the gold necklace you receive next Christmas. Over 90% of mobile phone materials are recoverable. This includes gold, silver, copper and other valuable resources that can be reused to create products like jewellery, stainless steel products, batteries and plastic fence posts,”

said Rose Read, Manager of Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association’s (AMTA) national recycling program,MobileMuster.

They have together brought out a great range ofjewellery. This was sure an eyeopener for several others about what one can do with parts of recycled mobile phones.This all new ecofriendly range has as a part of its collection, men’s ring, cufflinks and necklace. And as part of the women’s range it has necklace, bracelet and earrings. The proceeds from the sales are to be donated to Landcare Australia.
