Dark Mizo villages to get electricity from varied renewable energy resources by 2007

many mizo villages have no electricity

All un-electrified villages of India’s state of Mizoram will get electricity through varied renewable energy resources by next year. The hotbed for energy resources, the state only awaits tapping them in its varied forms — such as solar energy, wind energy, water energy and energy from bamboos and biomass.

The Mizoram government has chalked out a comprehensive one-year vision plan with the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources’ help.

The state is endowed with rich forests, and will spot degraded wastelands of all kinds available – be it a private land, a council land, or an un-classed area or revenue land for tapping the various forms of non-conventional energy resources.
