‘Compact Camper Van’ runs on hydrogen fuel cells to curb emissions

Compact Camper VanThe Compact Camper Van by designer John Bridge is the latest delight for adventure lovers. Inspired by Hot Rod of 1950, this conceptual camper van is a definite amalgamation of traditional and contemporary design, which promises to provide all the essential facilities expected especially for a coastal voyage.

Conventional camper vans are usually bulky and a difficult vehicle to navigate. But this concept breaks free from the traditionally designed campers yet not compromising the comfort element. Compact Camper Van has an asymmetrical body which gives it an unique look. The hot rod influence is evident as the front end slopes down to form a curvy body. The doors in this van open on independent hinges so that they can be split at the windows. The roof and the canvas side panels designed to be pulled and zipped into the front panel to create an unique atmosphere. The outside body of the van though looks fierce, the inside is expected to be relatively cozy.

Powered by hydrogen fuel cells, the Compact Camper Van carefully drifts away from the traditional mechanism of automobiles by using “drive-by-wire” technology. This drive-by-wire mechanism replaces the mechanical control systems with electronic control systems. It uses human machine interfaces such as pedal and steering feel emulators. The Compact Camper, a revolutionary move in the designing for camper vans has great potential and is all geared to make coastal outings even more fun and delightful.
