The herbal craze has dramatically engulfed the cosmetic market across the world. To fuel the craze, consumers can soon enjoy soap, shampoos and many other products containing palm oil with a clean conscience. The Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) has overwhelmingly accepted it. RSPO is a group of producers, buyers, retailers, financial institutions and NGOs on a set of criteria for the responsible production of palm oil. And now, it has come up to provide a helping hand to reduce air pollution. It is now increasingly being touted as a bio-fuel. Over the past 25 years, worldwide demand for palm oil has skyrocketed. Palm oil plantations now cover an area of 11 million hectares. Global production of palm oil is expected to nearly double by 2020.
