Eco Factor: Sustainable caravan powered by solar energy.
Boutique Caravans has announced the development of a new caravan, The Edge, which according to the developers can change the face of British camping forever. Costing a whopping £60,000-80,000, the Edge is being claimed to be the UK’s most stylish caravan that will offer facilities one would expected in a five-star hotel.
With more than 1000sqf of space to play with, the caravan features an open plan living and dining area that provides enough space to entertain guests with ease. The environmentally friendly caravan comes with hyper insulation, triple glazed windows that can be heated to turn opaque and a heating and cooling system that is powered by solar energy.
The onboard solar panels will be able to provide most of the energy the caravan needs, ensuring year-round operation. Though the caravans are on the pricey side, the creators believe that with a rental management service and the benefit from the feed-in tariffs, the cost could be reduced.
