A Norwegian integrated oil and gas company — Statoil — has began adding 5% bio-diesel — rapeseed methyl ester — to all diesel sold at the service stations of the Group in Sweden to reduce carbon emissions by 115,000 tonnes! – According to the company, this is equivalent to the emissions of 40,000 cars.
The rapeseed methyl ester will be replacing 46 million liters (12.2 million gallons US) of diesel each year! During the autumn, the new B5 fuel named Biodiesel 5, will be replacing standard diesel sold at Statoil’s service stations and truck diesel facilities.
