Eco Factor: Sustainable development features energy-saving techniques.
Big Architects has proposed a new sports complex that will feature a multitude of green spaces and integrate several energy-saving techniques. Dubbed the World Village of Women Sports (WVWS), the 90,000-square-meter development is being planned to be constructed in Sweden.
The WVWS will be a multifunctional neighborhood that will comprise a range of physical activities, sports, fitness and wellness. The development features a football field at its heart, while the gyms, auditoriums, handball halls and health houses have been assigned separate areas.
The sports complex has been conceived as a village with a variety of spaces, pavements and gardens. The green spaces provide a natural setting, while large glass windows make sure that the complex can get a good share of natural light to reduce energy consumption.
