Eco Factor: Sustainable facility powered by renewable energy.
With a decrease in land available for farming and housing New York-based architect Ju-Hyun Kim is envisioning the future of theme parks, which according to him is in the sky. Borrowing the idea from Disneyland to create different worlds the architect has come up with a theme park for a future metropolis. Christened the Vertical Theme Park, the sustainable building harvests solar and other green energy sources, recycled waste and harvests rainwater.
The all essential components of a theme park, such as the Ferris wheel, rollercoaster and carousel have being re-imagined for use in the vertical space. The theme park features five major areas that includes a Vertigo World (carousel and observation deck), Fast Land (flume ride, rollercoaster), 360 World (Ferris Wheel, sky promenade), Abyss City (deep city diver), and the Elsewhere Universe (space exploration, science center).
