They have done it again and this time like any other its the sheer brilliance of surfacing the renewable charging stations for electric vehicles. Jointly developed by Mitsubishi Corp and the Tokyo Institute of Technology, this one’s a catch indeed as it reduces the usage of thermal and atomic power.
A dish generator in the form of a solar thermal power generator will be set up. Its nothing but a power receiving system for electricity generated by wind power, a power control system and a charging post will be installed in the Tokyo Institute of Technology and will be tested using Mitsubishi’s i-MiEV vehicle. Aim of the exercise being reduction of total environmental load from the time of power generation to the time of driving.
Since the amount of electricity generated by wind power cannot be controlled Mitsubishi and the Tokyo Institute of Technology are developing a system that transmits data on the amount of electricity created through wind power, which leads to charging electricity only during the availability of wind power. In addition to this less expensive nighttime power will be stored and controlled by the power control system so that its low-cost power with less environmental load can be supplied as needed.
The refreshingly new concept is indeed worth every wait as field tests are conducted from July 1, 2008, to March 31, 2010, as part of the Advanced Energy Management (AEM) project promoted by the Integrated Research Institute of the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
