Eco Factor: Portable gadget chargers running on solar energy.
Ambientec has unveiled two new solar-powered battery chargers at the PV Expo 2010 that include the SolarFold and the SolarFan. The SolarFold opens up like a Japanese folding screen and the SolarFan opens up like a fan. The devices are designed to be easy to carry and can charge all portable mobile devices that can be charged via USB cables.
The chargers are sold in bundled packages costing about $245 each. The company claims that a 10-minute charge of your cellphone’s battery will be enough for a three-minute call. The devices are based on the use of light-gathering spherical solar cells that are more efficient than the conventional PV models.
