Eco Factor: Concept energy plant designed to harvest renewable energy.
Industrial designer Arttu-Matti Immonen has tried to combine the best of solar and wind energy in a single package to maximize energy output. Dubbed Aard, the generator has been designed in the shape of a ball, which carries flexible solar modules on the surface. During daytime, the PV modules harvest renewable solar energy, which is stored in onboard batteries.
When the wind gets strong, the spherical generator revolves and produces electricity through onboard dynamos. The Aard will be made from aluminum to reduce the overall weight and convert low-speed winds into electricity.
