A Smart Refurbishing Act

Recycling or refurbishing is long thought of as a futile act with no major gains and believe me it is a general conception with people other than the environmentalists of course. But then, time and again these nature lovers keep hitting hard with examples to make the other lot reconsider their opinion. Just as you see the solar powered utility cart above which was about to be dumped as a piece of trash. Thanks to three engineering students who thought off giving a new life to that trash and ultimately succeeded in bringing out a product worthy of carrying 4 mature individuals around the campus at 11mph and that too without the need of fuel.

A product that derives energy from the solar panel atop, the utility cart was even given a new eco-friendly flavor with a green and golden color coating. Mechanical engineering professor Charles Ritz, the pioneer of this thought teamed up with Mauricio Hernandez, Walter Ortiz and Brian Clausen (all three engineering majors) and got the conversion done with a $1000 gift aid from the Lyle centre.
