With new and improved technology creeping into our lives, it is quite natural that we shift to the new leaving the old behind. Right now as you are staring at your computer screen, you are not aware of the fact that one day it will be yesterday’s technology. When we buy a new gadget, we believe it to be technology’s best offering until we find an enhanced version of it. Soon, the old gadget is forgotten and we become desperate to get the new one. From television sets, mobile phones to computers which apparently are the best gadgets for you at one moment will be tossed away in a matter of time. Hundreds of people are discarding their computers every day and getting a superior one. So what really happens to the old computers when they are discarded? Did you ever wonder where do the redundant computers go?
It gets stacked up in a landfill, unless someone as brilliant as Marek Tomasik creates The Dead Computer Room. The real name of it being “You Sometimes Have to Be Open.” Haven’t ever heard of it? Well, nothing unnatural. I am sure most of us have. The room is not an ordinary one, it is made up of dead computers. However, the computers are not just thrown together in a pile.
A Polish sculptor and designer Marek Tomasik, created the room made up of wood and dead computers that looks straight out of the Matrix. Tomasik has been a sculptor since the age of four. Tomasik’s creation of the dead computer room that measures 5m x 4m x 4.5m is a part of a big art world. The room is being created with dead computers since the past three years. The carefully assembled old, redundant, non-usable computers give the room an absolute sci-fi look.
Check out the gallery to get a greater view of how the miraculous room looks like. The real function of the room is not yet known, but it has something to do with installation. However, the biggest function of the room is its usefulness to mankind. The whole process is done by keeping in mind the usage of waste computer materials that can cause severe harm to the environment. Instead of trashing old computers it is being recycled. The room is definitely one of the greatest miracles and is bound to leave you in awe and wonder.
